چکیده

The present study investigates the thermo-hydraulic characteristics of a microchannel sink with novel trefoil Shaped ribs. motivation for this form rib shape is taken from design lung alveoli that exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. This has been conducted numerically by using code commercially available Fluent software. shaped ribs were mounted on centerline different walls in three configurations. These consisted base wall (MC-BWTR), sidewall (MC-SWTR), all (MC-AWTR) smooth channel (MC-SC) having no its wall. streamline distance between was kept constant at 0.4 mm, results compared pressure drop (∆p), Nusselt number (Nu), thermal resistance (Rth) enhancement factor (η). indicated addition to any improved heat transfer expense an increase friction factor. trends coefficient same, which higher values MC-AWTR followed MC-SWTR lower value MC-BWTR. In order compare hydraulic performance configurations simultaneously, overall quantified terms factor, than one each case, except MC-AWTR, 100 < Re 200 regimes. ribbed highest MC-BWTR, it lowest MC-AWTR. Moreover, increases Reynolds (Re) case. confirms increment velocity more significant drop. 1.6 attained = 1000, 0.87 achieved 100.

Analysis of flexible microchannel heat sink systems

In this work, single layered (SL) and double layered (DL) flexible microchannel heat sinks are analyzed. The deformation of the supporting seals is related to the average internal pressure by theory of elasticity. It is found that sufficient cooling can be achieved using SL flexible microchannel heat sinks at lower pressure drop values for softer seals. Double layered flexible microchannel heat...

Nowadays, microchannels as closed circuits channels for fluid flow and heat removal are an integral part of the silicon-based electronic microsystems. Most of previous numerical studies on microchannel heat sinks (MCHS) have been performed for a two-dimensional domain using constant properties of the working fluid. In this study, laminar fluid flow and heat transfer of variable properties Al2O3...
